Characteristics

Residues: 0

Safety period: 12 hours

Biological insecticide obtained from pyrethrum extract or pyrethrum from dried Chrysantemun (Pyretrum) Cinerariefolium flowers from Kenya, characterised by its rapid action by contact and ingestion. It is totally biodegradable and natural.

Its acids, chrysanthemic and pyrethric, form Cinerin, Pyrethrin and Jasmoline. Each of the components has a characteristic insecticidal effect. Among the characteristics of BIO 6000 Pyrethrin Plus, the following are particularly noteworthy: rapid action (acts by contact on the nervous system); low toxicity to humans and mammals; low risk of resistance; broad spectrum of action; lack of persistence (decomposes under the action of sunlight and wind), and also has a repellent effect on insects.

Degradation of pyrethrins in the natural environment is activated by sunlight and air, starts in the alcohol group, and involves the formation of numerous unknown breakdown products.

In potato, applied post-harvest, less than 1% of the initial residues were found in starch at 6 weeks of storage. In mammals it is rapidly degraded in the stomach by hydrolysis of the ester bond to harmless metabolites. Metabolism of cinerin I, jasmolin I and pyrethrin I produces 13-18 metabolites in mouse liver which are subsequently oxidised to alcohols, aldehydes, carboxylic acids, epoxides and dihydrodiols. Cinerin II, jasmolin II and pyrethrin Ii are metabolised to alcohols, epoxides and dihydrodiols.

Useful solution for disinfestation of premises, agricultural warehouses and the environment. It is used for aphid control both outdoors and indoors. Since the product degrades under the action of sunlight, it is advisable to carry out the treatment at dusk. The product only acts by contact and ingestion, so ensure adequate spraying.

Controlled species

It is recommended for the control of aphids, ants, mealybugs, thrips, whiteflies, bostrichids, bruchids, cucíljids, curculionids, geléchids, ostomatids, tenebrionids and other weevils. Also for the control of bostrichids, bruchids, bruchids, cuckoos, curculionids, gelecheids, tenebrionid ostomatids, small beetles, phycitids, tineids and other pests of cereal grains, legumes, tubers and other stored agricultural products and in the disinsectisation of agricultural premises and warehouses.

Application and dosage

By spraying or aerial spraying after dilution with water. Do not apply on wet plants or in draughts. Indoors, ventilate the premises after application. In gardens and inhabited areas, extreme care must be taken to ensure that children and adults do not approach or touch the treated plants until at least 1 day has elapsed for proper efficacy.

7.- Recommendations

Product suitable for all agricultural crops and can also be used in warehouses, premises, storage chambers, houses, etc...

It should be treated during the appearance of the pest or when it is in its first stages. Applications should be repeated according to the evolution of the insect.

Since the product degrades under the action of sunlight, it is advisable to carry out treatments at dusk.

It is a very non-selective insecticide with a broad spectrum of action. This characteristic must be assessed on a case-by-case basis in order to respect beneficial insects (pollinators, predators, etc.).

Suitable treatment equipment must be used to provide uniform and complete coverage of the vegetation, wetting the entire leaf surface on the upper and underside. Treatments above the drip point should be avoided. For best results with BIO 6000 Plus, the spray liquid should have a neutral pH.

Incompatible with alkaline preparations.

Do not apply during flowering periods with bee pollination.

Initially causes paralysis followed later by death.

It is not very persistent, which allows very specific interventions to be carried out without prolonged consequences. It has a powerful repellent power, which means that those that do not come into contact with the product are repelled and move on to other areas.
