Enzymes - protein molecules, highly specialised - are produced, among others, by bacteria and fungi and act as accelerators (catalyst) of a number of biochemical processes in which the molecules acquire other forms.
With the help of a biocatalyst, enzymes decompose more quickly, especially the groups of cellulose and pectins and dead parts of the plant, for example, the root. Thus many useful nutrients substances for soil micro-life and the plant itself are released.
Since the root nutrients absorb micro life that surrounds it, the stimulation of the micro-life is an increase of the absorption capacity of the plant. The micro-life expands, so to speak, the absorption surface of the root.
